FAQs

CuVira film powered by Nanoshield™  technology is a self-disinfecting antimicrobial film. It has been applied to touch points and surfaces around the world. Our film uses a patented form copper with excellent antiviral activity to continuously keep surfaces free of viruses and bacteria.
Yes. CuVira film powered by Nanoshield ™ technology is manufactured using a patented antimicrobial agent. We have tested its effectiveness against numerous viruses and bacteria using ISO 21702 (antiviral) and ISO 22196 (antibacterial) testing standards . To request specific lab reports, please contact us.

Effective against coronavirus OC43 (99.99% in 30 min) – a globally recognised surrogate for efficiency against SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19).

Yes, CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™ technology, targets and damages the protective layer of both envelope and non-envelope strains of viruses. This includes mutated DNA/RNA.

Test results show that CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield ™ technology, is effective against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), two additional human coronaviruses (229E and OC-43), as well as MHV (mouse hepatitis virus). All four are beta coronaviruses. Any mutant stains of coronavirus are also inactivated by CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield ™, in a similar time frame.

A vaccine increases the body’s immunity against infection. The duration of the COVID-19 vaccine’s efficacy is still an open question. Having CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield ™  technology work in concert with vaccines and normal disinfectants will provide you with the best protection.

Alcohol-based and similar spray disinfectants only cleanse a surface of existing viruses and bacteria in that moment. Subsequently, viruses and bacteria can survive on these surfaces in between scheduled cleaning times.

CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield ™ acts as a surface that viruses and bacteria cannot survive on. Using Nanoshield is the equivalent of spraying and wiping a surface with disinfectant every 5 to 10 minutes.

With CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™, viruses and bacteria start being eliminated from the moment of contact. The CSIRO has observed that coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) can survive on common surfaces for up to 28 days. A combination of Nanoshield and standard cleaning protocols can significantly reduce disease transmission in the community.

Unlike hand sanitisers, CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™ does not have any harmful effects on your skin. Our film passed ISO 10993 for skin irritation and skin sensitivity.

Yes. CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™ has been rigorously tested for oral toxicity, ocular and skin irritation, mutagenicity and cytotoxicity testing. Our film is perfectly safe to touch.

If the film is unscratched, damaged or modified, CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™s self-disinfecting effect lasts up to 12 months. We suggest replacing the film every 6 months to ensure maximum efficacy.

Unlike traditional copper, our patented copper compound resin does not oxidise and will not discolour over time.

We have a range of adhesive solutions that allows CuVira film, to be easily applied to almost any surface that requires sanitation.

CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield™ technology comes in two adhesive types: low and high strength. Neither will damage the surface. Low strength adhesive is recommended for glass and touch screens. High strength adhesive is recommended for all other surfaces.

We recommend using our high-strength acrylic adhesive (PVC range) for such surfaces.

Nanoshield can withstand boiling water for 4 minutes (100°C) with no detriment to its antiviral resin.

For outdoor applications, we recommend our All Weather solution, which has been weather-tested against ISO 4892-2 (light, temperature and humidity) to simulate 12 months of weather exposure.

Keeping our product surfaces free of dirt and grease helps preserve its antimicrobial effect. We recommend cleaning CuVira film, powered by Nanoshield ™, with non-abrasive cloths (e.g. microfibre) at least once daily. Nanoshield is resistant to water-based detergents, alcohol and bleach. Avoid using abrasive cleaning utensils as they risk damaging the antiviral resin.
